How long have you been dancing and what do you love most about it?
I was 12 when I took my first ballet class. I was always an artistic kid that liked preforming on stage, and I still remember the awe and amazement I felt the first time I stepped on the stage in the opera house in Norway during my first performance there. Still to this day going on stage is a fluster of intense emotions that captivate and inspire me - and without a doubt why I do what I do.
What has been your most memorable moment at Zurich Dance Academy?
Twice during my time in taZ I decided to make a piece for Prix de Lausanne's Young Creation Award, which is a choreographic competition. The time I spent creating the pieces I made for my friend Sammy was a time where I learned a lot about myself and dance. It's definitly a memory I will have for the rest of my life.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I hope that I'll still be dancing, continuing to pursue my artistic capabilities and exploring my creative interests. I would also want to contiue creating pieces and develop my choreographic abilities.
The best feeling on stage is for me…
...is when I'm dancing a choreography I have worked a lot on and gotten into a close relationship with. The feeling of dancing something you have such a deep understanding of and trying to express that message to the audience is extremly satisfying and I enjoy every moment of it.
What advice would you give younger dancers hoping to grow and achieve their dreams in dance?
Don't be afraid to fail, it's only through failure you will achive something truly meaningful.
