Costs

The four-semester MAS programme in Clinical Music Therapy costs CHF 16,800.

This includes:

  • Specialization modules per semester CHF 3,800.
  • Degree fee MAS CHF 1,600
  • 24 hours of group supervision
  • 42 hours of group music therapy teaching

Additional costs:

  • Application fee: CHF 200*
  • Admission procedure: CHF 250*

* Candidates with a degree in Music Therapy from ZHdK are exempt from paying these costs

Invoices are issued on a semester basis, i.e. in July and January. The payment conditions outlined in the โ€œGeneral Terms and Conditions for ZHdKโ€™s Continuing Education Programmes (AB-WB)โ€ and the information in the individual study agreement apply.

Online Application

The MAS programme begins in September every second year. It will run for the first time in 2025.

Registrations will take place via the online tool (ONLA). The application will be available here shortly.

If students meet the admissions requirements, they will be invited to apply.

Registration deadline is 31 May before the start of the programme

  • You can interrupt the application process at any time and complete it at a later date. The information you have entered will be saved. Mandatory fields are marked with a *.

    Once you have entered all your information, complete the process by clicking on โ€œFinish entryโ€. The data can no longer be amended. Your submission will be reviewed by the Continuing Education Office.

  • Curriculum Vitae
    A brief and clear list of your education and professional career history.

    Covering letter
    Set out your reason for applying for the continuing education degree programme on a maximum of one side of A4.

    Photo of yourself in JPG format
    Upload a recent photo in passport photo quality (at least 320 x 400 pixels). The photo must be high-contrast and your face must be clearly visible. It may not feature other people or objects.

    Social security number
    If you live or work in Switzerland, you will find your Swiss social security number (756โ€ฆ) on your OASI card or on your Swiss health insurance card. 

    Further documents

    •  Proof of basic training in music therapy
    • If available: Certificates of advanced courses
    • Proof of completed teaching music therapy (at least 50 hours)

    The documents must be uploaded in PDF format. If you have several individual PDF files, you can upload these one after another.

    Music therapy case vignette
    As a qualifying part of the admission process, we ask you to submit a case vignette as an example of your music therapy work.
    The report includes the following points:
    1. motivation to describe this very process
    2. referral situation
    3. brief anamnesis, development of the disease, diagnostic indications
    4. own findings: initial impression ๏€ญ indication/therapy goals ๏€ญ setting/associated measures
    5. course/process of therapy
    6. final assessment
    7. self-reflection: methodology and relationships    

    Formal
    Length and format of the written paper:

    • Maximum 5 pages
    • Font: Times or Times New Roman 12pt.
    • Line spacing: 1.5. page numbers
    • Page margins: 3 cm
