Aptitude Assessment
The following requirements must be met for the initial competence assessment as part of the minor enrolment:
A brief abstract with an introduction to the chosen subject area and a description of its relevance in music education practice. A clear research question or hypothesis is derived from this, which clarifies the aim of the study. The choice of method is also briefly explained and justified.
Length: two pages DIN A4, plus a bibliography and list of sources with full bibliographical details and sorted alphabetically by author name
Language: German or English
Font: Arial 10 to 12 pt.; line spacing 1 ยฝ
The document must be uploaded to the minor selection tool at the time of the selection (11 to 31 March).
After the abstract has been checked, candidates will be invited to a 20-minute interview during the practical aptitude tests (28 April to 2 May), in which questions about previous knowledge and the project will be asked and additional explanations given.

Aptitude Assessment Criteria
The following criteria are used to assess whether students possess the entry-level competencies in accordance with the Minor Allocation Regulations and the Degree Programme Regulations:
- Quality of the abstract
- Artistic-pedagogical and scientific potential of the research area
- Relevance for music education practice
- Potential for innovation
- Ability to reflect and self-assessment.
