Bio
Isaac Contreras is an artist born in Mexico working primarily with sculpture, image making and writing. He holds and MFA in Fine Arts from the Haute École d’art et de Design de Genève (2017).
In his work he investigates the construction of meaning and social expectations associated with images and objects, particularly those historically located on the margins. His artistic practice is invested in craft and his choice of technique is motivated by research, most often involving his own body, manual labor and materials placed at the margins of hegemonic modes of production.
Born in 1984 and raised in Ciudad Constitución, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Currently works in Mexico City.
