When this period expires personal data are deleted. Where there are concrete indications of an illegal act or an attack on the network infrastructure, the deletion of data may be postponed until the situation has been clarified.
3. Cookies
Cookies are used on the website. They store certain settings of your browser as well as data about exchange and improve the user-friendliness and security of our website. After closing the internet browser temporary cookies are automatically deleted and permanent cookies remain stored on your computer or mobile device. These cookies are used in order to record visitorsโ behavior on the website and to compile statistical information about the use of the website (see clause 11).
By adjusting the settings in your internet browser you can deactivate the storage of such cookies at any time and in this way prevent the permanent use of cookies. Please note that this may possibly result in individual functions of our website not working properly. 4. Access data
Every time you visit our website the following information about the access is automatically recorded:

This information is stored as log files on the servers of ZHdK in Switzerland (Zurich and Winterthur) for the purposes of technical processes and for statistical analysis of access. This analysis is made for the sole purpose of improving the ZHdK online services and the technology that backs them (see clause 11). To protect the security of your data during transfer, we use the most technically up-to-date encryption method (currently via HTTPS with the integration of a SSL Certificate).
5. Newsletter
We are happy to inform you about ZHdK through the medium of a newsletter. For registration and to send the newsletter we require the following personal data from you:
- First name and name
- Email address
- Address (in particular for delivery by post)
This personal data is used exclusively to send news, information about events and offers from ZHdK. By voluntarily providing and transmitting the personal data you give your consent to the processing, storage and use for the purposes outlined above. We and our following mentioned service provider use this data exclusively for sending the newsletter and do not hand it over to third parties. You can cancel the newsletter at any time and your contact data will be deleted from our servers and the servers of our service provider. The option to cancel can be found at the end of every newsletter.
We use the services of CleaverReach GmbH & Co KG, Mรผhlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Deutschland, for the administration of the newsletter contacts and the dispatch of the newsletter. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving our newsletter will be stored on CleverReachโs servers in Germany and Ireland. Our newsletters sent with CleverReach enable us to anonymously analyse the behaviour of newsletter recipients, such as how many recipients opened the newsletter message and how often which link was clicked in the newsletter.

6. Making contact
If you contact us by email you agree that we may save your email address, your IP address and any further personal data you provide for the purpose of responding to your request and to any possible further questions. The personal data will be used and transferred to the relevant department of the ZHdK only for as long as it is needed for the purpose referred to above. The data will not be handed on to third parties without your permission.
7. Registration for a degree programme
ZHdK is authorized to process personal data for the registration of a degree programme on the basis of the legal basis of ยงยง 6a and 6b of the Universities of Applied Sciences Act. The storage period depends on the legal requirements.
8. Registration for a course, conference or the like
For the registration of a course, a conference or the like, ZHdK is usually authorized to process personal data on the basis of the legal basis of ยงยง 6a and 6b of the Universities of Applied Sciences Act.
In addition, with your voluntary entry in our registration form you agree that we may process your personal data for the purpose of course or conference administration and the dispatch of event information in this context. The personal data will only be used for as long as it is required for the aforementioned purpose. You can unsubscribe from the corresponding newsletters at any time and the contact data will be deleted from our servers. At the end of each newsletter you will find the corresponding link to unsubscribe. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
9. Job application
ZHdK uses the application tool Refline to apply for vacancies. You will find the corresponding data protection declaration on Refline's application form.

This website uses external fonts from Google Fonts, which are integrated locally, for a consistent and appealing presentation. In doing so, the browser you use connects to our own servers and there is no processing to Google's servers.

We also include fonts from Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc., 600 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, MA 01801, USA. When you visit our website, a connection is established with Monotype servers and your IP address is transmitted. The IP address is stored by the provider for 30 days and deleted after this period.

In addition to our internal servers, we host our website at Snowflake Productions GmbH, Birmensdorferstrasse 94, 8003 Zurich, Switzerland. Snowflake creates standard web server log files with the following information for each access to the website: IP address, date and time including time zone, browser request including origin of the request (referrer), operating system used including user interface and version, browser used including language and version, amount of data transmitted. On our website we occasionally place content or offers of services from third-party providers in order to incorporate their contents and services such as, for instance, videos (YouTube or Vimeo) (hereinafter referred to as โcontentsโ). This means that the third-party providers of these contents note the usersโ IP addresses. The IP address is required for the transfer and depiction of these contents. 15. Data security and confidentiality
By using the appropriate technical and organizational security measures the stored personal data is projected against manipulation, loss or unauthorized access by third parties. These measures are being continuously improved. However, the transfer of information through the internet and other electronic media is always subject to certain security risks and ZHdK cannot guarantee the security of information that is transferred in this way.
As is called for in their employment contract (with an obligation for official secrecy) or in accordance with their service agreement the ZHdK staff, our web agency Snowflake Productions GmbH (Zurich), and the service providers we commission agree to observe discretion and to comply with the data protection regulations.
