The conference will focus on everyday cultural phenomena as well as political aspects and creative positions. From royal flower arrangements along Westminster Abbey to unpretentious bouquets in petrol station stores - the event promises a diverse program.
Beyond their numerous biological functions, their beauty and colorful diversity make flowers a decorative accessory in almost every situation in life; but they are also bearers of often contradictory religious, political and magical meanings, a global economic factor and, last but not least, an inspiration and model for the arts.
