Biography
Nuño Fernández Ezquerra is a composer of contemporary classical music, electronic music and music for film and media.
His work is characterised by a fastidious attention to detail and the quest to create a meaningful and impactful experience to the audience. With a critically open listening, his musical language has integrated radical elements from other genres such as advanced kinds of electronic music, jazz, metal, post-rock or Japanese noh, influencing his aesthetics in a veiled, coherent and cohesive way.
His works are commissioned by foundations, ensembles and soloists, being featured in festivals internationally. He has been recipient of several national and international prizes and supported through different scholarships.
He was instructed at the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki (Master) and at ESMUC, Barcelona (Bachelor) under the guidance of Mauricio Sotelo, Lauri Kilpiö and Agustí Charles. He has complemented his education with composers such as Kaija Saariaho, Julian Anderson or Raphaël Cendo amongst others.
