Biography
David Brill was recognized as a child prodigy and began his violin studies at the age of three. Since then, he has won many violin competitions, both at the domestic and international levels. He has participated in master classes with Joshua Bell, Ilya Kaler, Andres Cardenas, Kirill Troussov, Leon Fleisher, Linda Cerone, Rachel Barton Pine, as well as with members of the Penderecki Quartet and the Emerson Quartet.
In 2013, David attended the Tanglewood Music Festival on a full scholarship. In 2015, David won first prize in the concerto competition held at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, and was awarded a solo performance with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra in July of 2016. In 2016, David won first prize in the Lynn Conservatory Concerto Competition where he performed as a soloist with the Lynn Philharmonia Orchestra under Maestro Figueroa. David is also a three-time winner of the Lynn Conservatory Chamber Music Competition partnering with the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York. Davidโs ensembles performed at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City in 2017 and 2018.
In 2018, David placed first in the senior division of the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, Vienna, Austria, and was invited to perform as a soloist at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. Additionally, in 2018, he won first prize in the senior division at the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, and gave his solo debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City on November 2, 2018. In August of 2021, David made the final round of the Kreutzer International Violin Competition. In 2022, he received an honorable mention in the Nomea International Violin Competition as well as the Vienna New Yearโs Concert International Competition later that same year. David is currently pursuing a Masterโs Soloist Diploma under Professor Rudolf Koelman at the Zurich University of the Arts.
