Video annotations are relevant to a growing area of video-based research. The project is dedicated to a technical problem that became visible in the context of the research project "Research Video": The specific question is which technical solutions make it possible to link annotations to videos in such a way that they do not slip during a subsequent editing process, even if different video editing programs are used.
Video annotations are relevant to a growing field of video-based research, including and especially artistic research, but they go far beyond that. The project is dedicated to a technical problem that became visible in the context of the research project "Research Video": The specific question is which technical solutions make it possible to link annotations to videos in such a way that they do not slip during a subsequent editing process, even if different video editing programs are used. The solution to this problem could immensely increase the applicability of recorded videos in the field of data analysis and significantly improve the workflow for researchers who work with different and large video files. This subproject is carried out by the Performative Practice research group in collaboration with the Designstudio Prozess, Vienna.
