A pilot project on teaching electronic music as an artistic subject in music schools
The creative use of analogue and digital electronic means is part of the world in which children and young people live today and opens up a wide range of perspectives for personal expression, cultural participation and musical development. Corresponding training programs have been established at art colleges around the world: electroacoustic composition, audio design, sound art, composition for film, theatre and media, sound design, etc. On the other hand, there are currently no comparable offers for children and young people at music schools, such as those that have been established there for decades in the instrumental and vocal areas. Despite the wealth of technical possibilities, the didactic principles for their artistic use in music schools have so far remained largely unexplored.
Project goals
· Investigation of the didactic principles for the teaching of aesthetic, creative, technical and performative skills in the field of electronic music at music schools
· Development of the subject-specific didactic principles for the training of future teachers at art colleges
In cooperation with MKZ Music School Conservatory Zurich, Music School Weinfelden and Music School Pfannenstiel.
