“Projects for Marrakech – a Future with Tradition” is an interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration between students of the École Supérieure des Arts Visuels Marrakech and ZHdK students. The project builds on traditional arts and crafts knowledge and skills in the areas of textile, jewelry, leather, wood and metal. Special importance is given to supporting small entrepreneurs, especially women, in their endeavour to adapt their work to contemporary standards and needs. The École Supérieure des Arts Visuels Marrakech is funded entirely by a private foundation based in Switzerland.
The perspectives of a long-term tripartite partnership with this foundation and the École Supérieure are promising and have become mutually beneficial.
