The short film “Aphrodite” is based on a true story, occured in Tbilisi in early 2000. Soon after the sex shop “Aphrodite” was opened on Marjanishvili Street, it was ransacked by a group of unknown people and had to be closed due to protests in the neighbourhood. It is strange and tragic at the same time - open sexuality comes up against strong religious and cultural resistance in society.
