Even the fairy-tale story by Astrid Lindgren is full of recurring poetic motifs, in which the magic of music plays a major role again and again, thus providing an enchanting introduction to the world of opera. The libretto was written by Friederike Karig, with whom Peter Leipold is already planning further operas, including the chamber opera "Der goldene Brunnen" ("The Golden Well") based on Otfried Preußler. Both works are published by "Verlag für Kindertheater".
