โMontes de Nosotrosโ is a project based in former FARC-dominated areas in rural Columbia. The 52-year military conflict between the government, the FARC and paramilitary groups, which came to an end with the peace treaties in 2016, has caused over one million civilian victims. The resulting cultural uprooting of the population came with a loss of traditional knowledge in agriculture, craft and trade. From the perspective of social design, the project aims to jointly develop empowerment strategies with the local population of Montes de Maria. The central question is how memories and knowledge can be collected, re-generated, made productive and taught in a region recovering from war.
