3 online studio visits with artists living in different European cities
Exchanges with artists, be it in the form of a studio visit, an artist talk or an exhibition tour, are an integral part of art education: they give students the chance to open up their horizons and enter into contact with future peers.
The format of digital studio visits will give us the occasion to talk with artists that work in different cities across Europe and that we would physically not be able to visit in one semester.
Throughout HS 2020/21 we will have 3 studio visits via Zoom with artists working in different media and studio situations: Steve Bishop in London, Cedric Eisenring in Berlin and Vera Palme in Frankfurt am Main. Before the visits take place, the students will familiarize themselves with the 3 artistsโ works, thus giving them the opportunity to ask specific questions and take advantage of the moment together.
The goal and interest of these visits is to give first semester art students a direct insight and accessible viewpoint into the everyday practice, questions, ideas and doubts of 3 young artists. It is through such concrete examples that one is motivated to discover oneโs own way of working and making art.
