The Department of Cultural Analysis focused on transcultural communication as part of the “Arts for Change” project. Three projects have contributed to understanding transculturality @home and abroad within the scope of the promotion of “Arts for Change”.
The project “Professional Field Assessment Artists and Designers” has been established by the Department of Cultural Analysis and Education. It is aimed at professional artists who have been forced to flee their home countries. Due to their history of flight, refugees often have no papers and documents to prove their artistic and creative training, skills and resources. The Professional Field Assessment Initiative endeavours to determine and record the qualifications, competencies and options for artistic and creative activities. The project helps artists to put their own professional situation into perspective in the country of asylum and to discuss their options and professional perspectives with experts from comparable artistic fields. ZHdK’s programme “Access for Refugees” is today responsible to conduct those assessments.
