Hong Kong professionals from various sectors of the economy were invited to learn about concrete applications of design methods and innovative - creative thinking to solve complex issues in a four day training program. The cornerstones of the programme were Design & Economy, Design & Identity, Design & Society and Design & Technology, in various forms and always from the perspective of design.
With the purchase of day passes, participants were able to attend various workshops and lectures free of charge. The workshops were eminently interactive and invited visitors to actively participate. The exhibition "Interactive and Playful - Swiss Design from Zurich Univiersity of the Arts", which took place at the same time, made it possible to involve the themes, lecturers and designers of the exhibition in the continuing education programme. The result was an impressive mediation and presentation of creative practices.
A total of 466 people took part in the 14 workshops, which can be seen as a great success in Hong Kong. The evaluation of the participant surveys shows an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. The HKDI and its sponsor, the VTC (Vocational Training Council), are highly interested in in-service training models as well as dual vocational training models. Envisaged is a continuation of the successful cooperation next year.
