Biografie
Born in Berlin in 1996, Jakob Nepomuk Schumann, a German director currently based in Zürich, has cultivated a remarkable artistic journey. Growing up in Lyon, Beijing, and Cologne, he later studied Medicine, Musicology, and Art History at the University of Cologne.
His involvement with the Cologne Philharmonic and WDR-Symphonieorchester exposed him to diverse musical practices, enriching his creative approach. Jakob's distinctive style centers around reinterpreting historic tragedies, focusing on sensory, musical, and aesthetic elements to evoke emotions rather than simply narrate stories.
Continuing his artistic evolution, Jakob is currently expanding his horizons at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. His ability to capture the essence of human experience through his work solidifies his place as a visionary in the world of directing.
