Educational objectives.

Graduates are able to:  

  • Develop a representative repertoire covering different languages and periods in close collaboration with a singer
  • Effectively incorporate the knowledge they have acquired of vocal physiology and the breathing and diction of vocalists into their joint work
  • Set up a cooperative, respectful, result-oriented collaboration with the singer
  • Apply their practical, stylistic and analytical music knowledge, and make well-founded interpretive decisions
  • Analyse and creatively implement the poetic content and psychological backgrounds of the lied genre
  • Publicly present their artistic projects themselves; this also requires them to give their projects a unique profile while taking into account the regulations of the music market
  • Expertly deal with different performance situations and master diverse production conditions with confidence
  • Stand up to international comparison, gain experience (e.g. by taking part in competitions) and improve their skills

Potential areas of employment.

The Major trains experts to work as a professional lied duet. Graduates are directly involved in shaping contemporary and future music life, and take sociocultural responsibility in the process. They work as an established lied duet in the highly professionalized concert environment.
