MA Theatre
To stay relevant, theatre has to position itself anew and against the backdrop of current social issues and contemporary discourses. To do so, it requires a space in which makers from all theatrical disciplines can experiment and collaborate to explore the theatre of the future โ itโs a MATch.

Programme
The Master of Arts in Theatre (MATch) creates a unique space of encounter for artists from across the fields of theatre and performance practice, such as dramaturgy, acting, theatre education, directing and scenography.
MATch provides students with a broader understanding of theatre in which experimental formats and practice-based research take centre stage.
MATch focuses on collaborative and co-creative work processes and promotes the artistic and theoretical exchange on applied practice.
MATch brings together experienced artists, researchers and educators from a range of backgrounds who participate in shaping the content and methodology of the Major.
MATch is aimed at people who would like to further professionalize and deepen their performance practices in an environment beyond professional and production pressures.
MATch enables the development of practice-based research projects in an interdisciplinary environment, supported by a wide range of courses and teaching formats.
The classes are taught primarily in English in order to promote the diversity and internationality of the degree programme.
Major-Minor Programme Model
At ZHdK, students choose a Major. In addition to this core subject, they can choose one or two Minors to deepen or expand their major skills and knowledge across various disciplines. This wide choice of courses is unique in Europe and enables students to develop and sharpen their individual profile.
