Developing and experiencing future scenarios for ZHdK - with and without AI
In line with its annual theme "ZHdK+Futures Thinking", the Digital Council continued the "Atelier Futures" workshop series in autumn as "Atelier Futures 2". In three consecutive workshops, participants from all areas of the university familiarised themselves with methods of future thinking such as "What if" questions, the Futures Wheel and Creative Futures Crafting and applied these in explorative and playful ways to develop future scenarios for the university. This second iteration of "Atelier Futures" focussed on generative Artificial Intelligence and human-machine collaboration. The different working groups utilised AI to varying degrees, either in a leading or in a supporting role. Subsequently, the participants reflected on the role of AI for idea generation, for team building and in the different outcomes.
Finally, the results from the workshop series were discussed with the entire team of participants and then presented at a public event; for ZHdK members, they are also documented on the intranet (with ZHdK login). Findings and insights from the workshops form the basis for the comic series "What if..." by Kati Rickenbach.
