The universityโs strategic claims in the area of digitality are based on the ZHdK Strategy 2019โ23 and essentially define the following course of action:
The strategic coordination of tasks and activities respects the diversity of disciplines.
At ZHdK, the tasks associated with digital transformation are addressed in a coordinated manner across the university. The focus is on changing areas of work, design of teaching offers, research methods and administrative processes.
The definition of focal points allows flexibility for innovation.
The university defines clear priorities in its approach to digitalization whilst at the same time ensuring the necessary flexibility to be able to respond to the dynamics in this field. With the Digital Council, ZHdK has a strategic committee which pools experience and knowledge from all subject areas and advises the university management.
In preserving its unique selling points, the university remains internationally relevant.
The interplay of analogue and digital methods holds a lot of potential in the arts and design disciplines and is promoted as a characteristic feature of ZHdK.
Digitality is a social challenge and a participatory task.
In digital matters as much as elsewhere, ZHdK focuses on the needs of its staff and students. The university specifically promotes digital skills, always on the basis that digitality is a broader social issue to be considered also beyond the universityโs framework.
