This year's SDA-Award goes to Jonatan Bischof & Elias Diehl from the Bachelor's Major in Industrial Design. Their diploma project «Final_Backup» convinced the jury. The SDA-Award is presented annually by the Swiss Design Association to a diploma project from the Bachelor's Major in Industrial Design, Interaction Design and Trends & Identity majors.

What happens to digital data after someone dies? The simple data handling procedure «Final Backup» enables relatives to preserve the digital legacy of the deceased, or delete it permanently. This process clears electronic devices of their digital legacy so they can then be returned to the material cycle.
