Starting in the 2025/26 school year, the vocational dance training at the Tanz Akademie Zรผrich can be completed with the Berufsmatur 1 ARTE / vocational baccalaureate. This makes it possible to acquire a vocational baccalaureate in parallel with dance training. On the one hand, a vocational baccalaureate enables students to continue their education at universities of applied sciences and, with a bridge to the Swiss federal baccalaureate, at universities.
The Berufsmatur 1 (BM1) / vocational baccalaureate is taken alongside the four-year vocational training at the taZ. Classes take place on two afternoons, Wednesdays and Fridays, at the Berufsmaturitรคtsschule Zรผrich (BMZ).
To attend the BMZ, you must pass the Cantonal Entrance Examination (ZAP) before starting your apprenticeship. You must register for the exam and can do so from January 1, 2025 to February 5, 2025 at the following link.
The entrance examination 2025 will take place on March 5, 2025. Secondary schools and private institutions prepare students for the central entrance examination. Please note that both the entrance examination and later the language of instruction are German. More information available here.
Failing the ZAP or a later BM exam does not jeopardize the guaranteed apprenticeship contract for a vocational training in stage dance. In the event of failure, the apprenticeship is completed without BM, or the qualification is an EFZ without BM.
