Turntables supports creative professionals around the world by building future skills, promoting networks and supporting artistic collaboration.
And the ZCCE is one of the teams in the project co-financed by Movetia. It is a partnership between artlink (Bern), ZHDK (Zurich), Mekong Cultural Hub (Southeast Asia), Black Rhino VR (Kenya) and Meta Arts (India).
Many artists from Africa, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Eastern Europe and those with migration experience face systemic barriers that prevent them from achieving visibility and recognition and accessing markets and resources. At the same time, digital and social change is transforming the nature of work in the cultural and creative industries. The work of an artist or creative professional today is highly dependent on entrepreneurial thinking, global networking and digital skills โ skills that are often best learned outside the classroom โ in communities of practice.
Therefore, the objectives of the project are:
- Strengthening civil society organisations (CSOs) and higher education institutions (HEIs) to create sustainable programmes that support the growth and mobility of creative professionals.
- Promoting collaboration between the creative industries and academia through joint learning and mutual exchange.
- Creating jobs and opportunities for cultural workers by building communities of practice.
- Creating a network of civil society organisations and higher education institutions that focuses on sustainable learning in the cultural and creative industries.
