Q & A

Nationality: Romanian
Plans after graduation: NRW Juniorballett

How long have you been dancing and what do you love most about it?
I have been dancing for over 10 years and I fell in love with it from the beginning. I love that dancing ballet can be very tough physically and mentally but at the same time it is very fun. And that it teaches us a lot of things not just about dance but also about life.

What has been your most memorable moment at Zurich Dance Academy?
I will never forget the moment when I got the chance to dance the 1st variation from Napoli, at the Zurich Opera House on my birthday. I got the chance to share the stage with my closest friends, dancing beautiful choreographies by August Bournonville and Jon Ole Olstad.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
I hope 5 years from now I will be dancing around the world, exploring new places. And I hope I will get more opportunities to create and present my works as a choreographer.

The best feeling on stage is for me…
For me personally it is an incomparable feeling to be on stage. I love to enter the role that I'm performing and express as much of it as possible. The most beautiful part is at the end when you get rewarded with applause and flowers for all the hard work.

What advice would you give younger dancers hoping to grow and achieve their dreams in dance?
I wish for all the young dancers to find an objective and stick to it. Sometimes we have davs when we don't find our motivation, but we need to remind ourselves why we started dancing in the first place.
