Course content
The Minor “Radical Pedagogy in Museums” is aimed at students at Master’s level who would like to consolidate and professionalize their knowledge of (inter)personal art mediation, and work as educators in the fine arts field. The Minor enables students to specialize in working with modern and contemporary fine arts: from conceptual and media-based explorations to performative projects, through to exhibition spaces as places where art mediation encounters its audience as an independent and also an artistic and cultural practice in itself.
Skills acquired in the course
After successfully completing the Minor,...
– students will able to implement mediation projects in complex institutional settings and initiate, support and reflect on cooperating with a variety of institutional and social partners.
– students will be proficient in experimental ways of working, and be able to engage with new content areas in a differenciated, knowledgeable manner. They will also have the requisite skills to find suitable and unexpected solutions, processes and answers to educational issues, while considering the particular conditions and requirements of a situation as well as the needs and wishes of collaborators and participants.
– students will be able to conceive art mediation programmes, projects and formats based on their knowledge of art and theory as well as from a critical, independent position.
