«Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it’s the answer to everything. … It’s the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it’s a cactus.» — Enid Bagnold
The recent boom in series writing at the very latest has made everyone realize what makes a good film: a good screenplay! So it’s no surprise that screenwriters are among the most sought-after creative force in the film industry today. Students doing a Master’s in Screenwriting at Zurich University of the Arts learn and deepen the craft of screenwriting supported by successful Swiss and international authors and dramatic advisers, such as Valeska Grisebach, Markus Imhoof, Franz Rodenkirchen and Güzin Kar. Coursework includes practice, networking and the chance to act as the “ticket to write” at least one full-length screenplay as a graduation assignment.
