The evaluation of the survey on AI at ZHdK, launched by the Digital Council and the IT Centre in May, shows that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become part of everyday life at the university - and is still on everyone's lips.
In terms of the use of AI at the university and the university members' self-assessment of their AI skills, the ZHdK average shows a high medium score. The wide range of results reflects the diversity and heterogeneity at the university. The analysis of the qualitative data confirms a critical curiosity as the basic attitude of university members towards AI, which also corresponds to the university's position paper on AI. The respondents expressed a strong desire for more in-depth engagement with all aspects of AI. To this effect, the Digital Council already offers a range of low-threshold programmes, such as the Critical Curiosity Events (in German; with ZHdK login) or the AI lunch learning series "Bot Appetit" (in German).
Members of the ZHdK can view the evaluation of the survey, the respondents' voices on AI, as well as the data and graphs in detail (with ZHdK login). A second survey is planned in a few months' time in order to track the changes associated with the rapid development of technologies and applications. If you have any questions or comments about the survey, please contact the Digital Council Team.
