When I set myself a goal, I achieve it. For example, I am working on a charity gala concert that will probably take place in Carnegie Hall in 2025. It’s a dream come true.
I see myself as a creative and hard-working person who never loses sight of his dreams and visions. That fills me with peace and makes me happy. I am ambitious and have already ticked off several goals on my to-do list. For me, anything is possible with enough dedication, prayer and hope.
There were many reasons for moving to Zurich. One of the most important was to change things in my life: after earning my bachelor’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, I was looking for new inspiration and a new network. The prospect of receiving a ZHdK Excellence Scholarship really helped me to decide to move to Zurich. Fun fact: I was often here as a child and told myself at the time: “I want to live here one day.”
Apart from pursuing my programme, I am composing my third album and focusing on expanding my network in the Swiss music scene. I am looking forward to immersing myself in recording and releasing the album and organizing my tour. I love jazz for its honesty, spirituality, communication and, of course, for its improvisation.
I have a fantastic teacher: I am learning so much from Christoph Grab that I am taking enormous strides, which is a blessing for me. I am very surprised by how great ZHdK’s Department of Music is! We have a lot of freedom and opportunities to choose our subjects. There are many inspiring lecturers and exciting performance opportunities to present ourselves. I feel very well supported by the Jazz & Pop profile!
Would I change anything at ZHdK? Well, I would like to discover what is happening across campus: What are other departments doing? Which students from other subjects could I hook up with to do projects …?
